スタッフさんが「雨の日にじっくり見たい絵画」をテーマに選んでくれました。
21日には、夏至をお祝いしてキャンドルナイトが開催されます。
アンデシャンは、芸術を愛した亡きオーナーのご遺言により「貸さない、売らない」とされている場所を特別にお借りしています。
手の気配と静かに向き合うための、街の中心の聖域でありたいと願っています。
単なるレンタルスペースではないけれど、本当にゆっくりと場を開ける手触りを持ったまま、レンタルもできる場へと向かっています。
2階では、4月から中高生向けの自習室が始まりました。
今現在の成績に関わらず、彼らの作り出す「気配」が心地のよい自習の場に育つことを願います。
銚子は、日本一の水揚げ量を誇る漁業の街です。
原色の大漁旗が似合います。
そんな街の中心で、なるべく無色のままご遺言と向き合っているつもりです。
キャンドルの炎は、消そうと思えば簡単に消すことができます。
一人一人の「儚い火を見守る意志」によってキャンドルナイトは成立します。
同じようにこの建物も、絵画も自習室も、一人一人の気持ちに支えられています。
それぞれ過去の人、現在の人、未来の人に通じていると言えます。
そんなことを考えながらこうして夏至をお祝いできることは、とても豊かで幸せなことだと思います。

As the fourth event in our pre-opening series to mark the gallery’s reopening, we will be hosting an exhibition of paintings by Hirofumi Miyauchi. On the 21st, we will be holding a Candle Night event and exhibiting the “Zen in the Art of Grapes” that look lifelike in the dark.
This exhibition marks the fourth installment of Andecian’s pre-opening series.
Our staff has curated a selection of paintings under the theme “Paintings to savor on a rainy day.”
On the 21st, we will be holding a Candle Night event to celebrate the summer solstice and exhibiting the “Zen in the Art of Grapes” that look lifelike in the dark.
Andecian is a space we have been granted special permission to use, in accordance with the will of our late owner, who loved art, stipulating that the space “shall not be rented out or sold.”
We hope to be a sanctuary in the heart of the city where visitors can quietly engage with the subtle presence of the artist’s touch.
While we are not merely a rental space, we are evolving into a venue that can be rented out while retaining the warm, inviting atmosphere of a place where one can truly take one’s time.
On the second floor, a study room for junior and senior high school students opened in April.
Regardless of their current grades, we hope that the “atmosphere” they create will foster a comfortable space for studying.
Choshi is a fishing town that boasts the largest catch volume in Japan.
Brightly colored fishing flags suit it well.
In the heart of such a town, we strive to remain as neutral as possible while honoring the owner’s will.
A candle’s flame can be easily extinguished if one chooses to do so.
Candle Night exists because of each person’s “will to watch over this fleeting flame.”
In the same way, this building, these paintings, and this study room are all sustained by the feelings of each individual.
One could say that they connect people of the past, the present, and the future.
I find it deeply enriching and joyful to be able to celebrate the summer solstice while reflecting on these things.
