Biography
1986 千葉県銚子市生まれ、画家。銚子商業高校卒業/和光大学芸術学科卒業/東金高等技術専門校建築科卒業
2014 鳥取市の空き家改装した飲食店「八百屋barものがたり」の蔵に居候。廃校の教室で絵を描く。
2015 2年ほどドイツ・ライプツィヒの空き家を使ったプロジェクト「日本の家」で暮らし、絵を描く。
2016 ライプツィヒの廃工場群を利用したアート施設「Spinnerei」の「Halle14」で絵画展示。
2016 リトアニア「Kintai Arts」より招聘、空き倉庫での展覧会「PIKNIK」を開催。
2017 空き家を再生した会場を使い「鹿野芸術祭」の企画、運営。
2020-2022 銚子市の空き家を改装。「ロクの家」、「Gallery Andecian」、子供プロジェクト「みかんの家」を作る。
2024 新潟県佐渡市で空き家を直しながら暮らす。

Hirofumi Miyauchi was exposed to local traditional performing arts from an early age and later studied traditional Japanese wooden architecture.
He does not begin his painting process from fixed ideas or narratives. Each work starts by listening carefully to the memories accumulated in his hands; materials and techniques are chosen in response to these sensations.
As a sensory-sensitive individual, Miyauchi experiences painting as an extension of everyday life. His works are not explanations of ideas, but traces of lived time.
After graduating from a university fine arts program, he has presented works at venues such as Spinnerei in Germany and Kinta Arts in Lithuania. He later established two artist-run galleries and currently lives and works on Sado Island, Japan, surrounded by a rich natural environment.
Statement
私の制作は、言葉や理論が立ち上がる以前の「身体感覚」から始まります。近代美術史の「コンセプト」や「意味」による定義づけは、私にとっての普通の芸術とは構造が反転しています。私にとっての価値は説明可能であることではなく、説明できないことによって守られる「操作不可能な身体感覚の深度」にあります。
私の身体は、感覚過敏や共感覚という特性を通じて、世界の微細な歪みを過剰に受け取ります。制作、そしてDIYによる環境構築は、私にとって表現である以上に「生命の呼吸」を整えるための当然の行為です。私が主宰する「Andecian Art Project」は、単なるギャラリーではありません。身体が世界に耐えうるための「外部化された免疫系」であり、生命の抵抗拠点です。
メルロ＝ポンティが説いた「知覚」が個人の経験に留まるのに対し、私の試みは「整流（Rectification）」を目的とします。私自身の呼吸を整えるための制作は、共感する人の呼吸を整えるかもしれません。つまり作品は、作者の死後も人の生命を養い続ける可能性があるということです。
また、例えば私は、制度や専門教育の外側で表現を続ける人々を、支援の対象とは見なしません。私たちは、この世界で「生命の呼吸」を保とうとする、同じ水平線上に立つ制作者です。芸術によって身体感覚の「深度」を共有することは、人間が人間であり続けるための力を取り戻す事に通じます。私は、俗世の中の神聖さを司る者を芸術家と呼びます。
My creative process begins with “bodily sensations” that arise before language or theory. The modern art historical practice of defining art through “concepts” and “meanings” is, for me, a structural inversion of what art naturally is. To me, value does not lie in being explicable, but in an “unmanipulatable depth of bodily sensation” that is protected by its very inexplicability.
Through the traits of sensory hypersensitivity and synesthesia, my body excessively absorbs the subtle distortions of the world. For me, creation—as well as environmental construction through DIY—is more than mere expression; it is a vital act necessary to regulate the “breath of life.” The “Andecian Art Project,” which I lead, is not simply a gallery. It is an “externalized immune system” that allows the body to endure the world—a resistance base for life itself.
While the “perception” described by Merleau-Ponty remains within the realm of individual experience, my endeavor aims for “Rectification.” The act of creation intended to regulate my own breath may, in turn, regulate the breath of those who resonate with it. This means that a work of art has the potential to continue nourishing human life even after the author’s death.
Furthermore, I do not view those who continue their expression outside of institutional or professional education as subjects of “support.” We are fellow creators standing on the same horizontal plane, striving to maintain the “breath of life” in this world. Sharing the “depth” of bodily sensation through art is the path to reclaiming the power for a human to remain human. I define an artist as a steward of the sacred within the mundane.
